Consider This

Consider This

A Poem by Jessica

Consider This
Love carefully the person that has never known love,
For their heart is fragile and can shatter in your hands.
Men make a mockery of women who have never know the kiss on the forehead of a father,
The running joke in every bar and saloon.
Consider that.
Consider this,
Consider what it take takes to hold your hand,
Is she a joke to you?
Consider the pain that she feels when she trusts in you,
Consider the pain that she feels when you treat her like the gum you scrape off the bottom of your shoe.
Consider this,
Her heart is hard to hold because you might drop it,
But then you blame her,
Would you blame a terrified animal that has been abused by people?
You’d blame the people?
Blame your fellow men who abandon daughters and abuse wives,
Speak up,
Don’t tolerate it.
If she gives you her heart,
Hold it with the truest intent.
Consider what it took to give it to you,
And love carefully for her heart is fragile and can shatter in your hands.
