Believe Me, I'm Lying

Believe Me, I'm Lying

A Poem by jumbie's #1 fan
"

about a girl who's in love with her bestie and he hurts her, but thinks she's fine because she still hangs out with him

"

Send a smokescreen
To hide these fears
The cataclysm of tears

After I've been crushed
After I've been torn
By the one I depended on most
I'm supposed to yell
Scream
Erase the traces of him
Out of every fathomed dream

Oh no, but not me
I make sure he doesn't see
The abrasions he put all over me
He can't see the damage he's done
I make him believe it's all in good fun

Such a perfect little actress I am
Pretending he didn't push me over
Into the dark abyss
Pitch-black arena
Of eternal loneliness

Because I just can't do it
Let him know how much it hurt
How much it still hurts
To see him everyday
Waiting for this heart of mine to heal
Hoping one day I'll wake up to find
Everything that happened
Had not been real

So you just sit there
Little lover of mine
Go on and ask me
Ask me how I'm doing
And I'll fake a smile and say

"I'm doing just fine"
