No Sir, False Testimony Wasn't Part Of The Contract

No Sir, False Testimony Wasn't Part Of The Contract

A Poem by jumbie's #1 fan
"

this is about my sister

"

The smoke is thick

The cement

Heavy

Bits of wood cut my lip

While I am pinned down by a heavy beam

Somewhere among the rubble,

I can hear a muffled cry

A small child calling out to me

She does not know my name

But still, I feel her

I hear her

“Help me”

I feel my strength welling up inside of me

An unforeseen force struggling to rise

Rise above the ashes

Like a phoenix after bursting into flames

Gotta get up

Gotta save that girl

Clearing the debris from above me

I take a look around

No one else on the scene

All I see is

Dust

Remains

And a small untouched church in front of me

Fighting my way through

The dirt

The debris

Shoving pieces of sheetrock out of my way

Determined to save this little girl

Even if it takes all day

A few more minutes drag by

Fainter and fainter grows her cry

Finally I find her

Blonde hair all a mess

Cuts on cheeks

Bruises on her chest

She looks at me with those sad blue eyes

And it immediately rushes to me

This beautiful little girl is going to die

Gathering all the power I do not possess

I take her up in my arms and stagger toward the vacant, but still-standing church

A sweet little girl no older than six

Being taken by Satan’s evil tricks

He won’t keep her

He won’t get this one this time, I cry

Falling to my knees

As I burst through the door of the church

This little child is barely breathing

I can almost see the life in her leaving

Looking at her, all I can do is pray

Jesus, you love this little one

You died for her too

She looks at me, expression askew

“Little girl,” I ask softly

“Do you believe?”

“Yes, Angel, I do” she whispers back

“I believe your words are true”

She takes one last breath and closes her eyes

Tears stream down as I whisper my goodbyes

Why do you have to make me sad for no reason!

You know what this reminds me of? Bella's dream... Really good job! It sounds better aloud though
