Many will praise an unblemished face

A flawless woman

Not a hair out of place

She sparkles and shines

To the world, she is divine

But not to me.

To me, that girl is not perfection

Merely a superficial child desperate for affection

Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention please?

It is my obligation to inform you of a spreading disease

The tendency to determine beauty by the least amount of flaws you see

The opposite of how I see beauty

A young woman down on her knees

Mascara and tears stain her cheeks

Everyone is beautiful in their own way. This is a very well written poem.

Real beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Your description of woman being torn down to their weaken points. I hope woman can be protected and treated with respect. Rape and abuse can leave a woman destroyed and unable to get up. Need family and love to repair. A powerful poem. You made me think. A beautiful woman is a mother, grandmother, sister and daughter who is kind and gentle with people around them.

Fantastic write! The words flow great and each stanza leads into the next, seamlessly.

Great message, as well. Taking the worst from life and surviving..continuing to fight - that IS real beauty.

Bravo! I love this piece :)

I like the depth that you've invested in this. I could feel the emotion behind the words, which gave each line impact. The only point I'd make is that the delivery is a bit disjointed, with a rhyming scheme that changes from one stanza to another. Perhaps it's just in how I read it. Regardless, this is a deeply personal, moving piece. Keep it up.

This is beautiful. One of the best I have read on here, and actually very true. I'm glad not all men are superficial and like fake women.
I love that you put the element of God in it. I don't really read religious poetry, I, myself, am not religious. I get a lot of criticism for that in school, even though I believe in God. But this was very thought provoking. What is beauty?
I love how you find beauty in the flaws, though. Truly amazing poem. Positively going into my favorites.
