Understand This: You've Got Nothing Left To Lose
So I was just wondering
How life is working out for you?
I see you tread the streets everyday
Trying to discover a new way

A way to not feel
A way to hide what's real
Last week it was alcohol
The week before, drugs
The new weapon this week
Is a lighter to burn upon your skin

 

But tell me, does it work?
I really would like to know
Because it seems to me
That no matter what you attempt
Your conclusion will always be no

Because you know what?
I've been in that place
I know what it's like
To go to sleep every night
With tears streaming down your face

And the only thing that ever got me through
Was falling on my knees and praying through
I didn't want to feel the pain anymore
And I knew that death was arriving at my door
So I took a deep breath and gave it all I've got

 

And I'm doing pretty good
But there's always a new mountain around the corner
No one ever said it would be easy
And you could say it's not for you
But take a look at yourself honey,

 

You've got nothing left to lose.
