city

city

A Poem by jex

dazzling colors and new revelations,

endless spires and systematic vibes,

a view from above or a view from below,

this is my city

down on the street,

below everything,

the subway rumbles under their feet,

streets filled with hundreds of them

cars slowly pass by,

traffic clashing them together,

vendors on the sides,

selling hot dogs and drinks,

restaurants and stores distract the eyes,

alluring office buildings designed to amaze

way up on the roofs,

slowly rising sun gives way to a new world,

helicopters and planes fly far overhead,

sky such a dark blue color this early morning

dazzling colors and new revelations,

endless spires and systematic vibes,

endless mazes above and below,

as many emotions as there are people spread around,

this is my city

Great description. I loved that you repeated the first stanza. To me that's the strongest part of the poem. Great work.

This poem is one of those that doesn't really express much negative OR positive view/opinion on a place, it sounds more accepting, and maybe even a bit endearing.

I really liked this though, it's quite unique, etc. Anyway awesome write, xD.
