The Iris

The Iris

A Poem by Jason Galliger

Dark, deep and searching

It reflects my soul with indescribable perfection

Then with a blink-  gone

I don't know what this poem means, but I know what I feel when I read it, Sir Galliger (you just earned a title; wear it well). It makes me feel...tranquility, oneness... Even with my now muted urge to burn this earth to ash, this poem makes me think that perhaps I should spare a line in a prayer to Mother; maybe I will beg her to defend Herself. Very well done, Sir Galliger.

This was REALLY short, but sweet, it really doesn't even need more words, this is great.

You described "the iris" with so much depth in only a few words. Taking something as simple as an iris and making it so deep. I really enjoyed reading this.It lefted me pondering haha :D

I take it as the part in the eye (There's also a flower by that name). Whenever you look at a picture of an eye, you can never look away for some seconds. It's because of the dark profoundness of the iris. This gave me the feel of falling into the depths of the iris and then one blink - the imagination ceases.. :)

Weird but nice theme :)

Keep writing.
