Methuselah's Dreams

Methuselah's Dreams

A Poem by Phemonoe
"

aged poem

"

Through these brooding hours
I slip inside my wonderland
I amalgamate peace and rage
And slowly depart on the ship
That sailed on moonbeams.
This mind speaks to me
Like a child I had borne once
When love was crisp, time eloquent,
Before we parted and I sailed
For lost seas on Noah’s Ark.

I call my consciousness—
‘Methuselah’
It has lived history
And battles of Rajahs fought
On the banks of Ganges
It shall rejoice the last sunset
Of Armageddon and on the
Rippled surface of my psyche
It shall come back
Sailing on crystal moonbeams.
