Sharing Scars

Sharing Scars

A Story by JCharo

First attempt at flash fiction

I grabbed her by the wrist, looked sternly up and down her forearm, and gazed up at her eyes quick enough to see a tear forming around the three tattooed dots on her face.  I knew the growing shadow that darkened the path before us paled in comparison to the shadow that lay behind her, but love has a way of forming its own shadow over the obvious and making naïve a quality instead of a weakness.  I slid my hand from her wrist to the palm of her hand and followed her, happily.

Actually a good prosaic poem...they overlap in structure though many times.. expressive..I like it.

nice work...this is one of those moments when we hit that crossroad of decision and decide to accept the reality of life...
