The Soldier, the Athlete, and the Farmer

When the battle rages and I believe I lost the war
Renew my focus and remind me who I fight for
No matter how much pain the struggle may bring
Create in me a heart of the soldier, my King

When the journey begins to wear me down
Give me the endurance to win the crown
An eye to see the race that is in store
Create in me a heart of the athlete, O Lord

When fields need care and the season is long
Inspire me to work with diligence and stay strong
Growth is slow and from patience I must depend
Create in me a heart of the farmer, my Friend
