Again

Again

A Poem by Joshua Lobdell
"

Breakups are tough, and the fill you with self doubt when you just want today to feel like yesterday

"

I find it hard to adapt

To our new situation that

Has you running from me

Hiding your eyes not to see

That we were good together

Sure it could have been better

But with us there is foundation

Can I deal with temptation?

Or will I take the easy way out

Leave behind all my doubt

And move on to another

I think it, I shudder

It's for you who I dream

You who makes my eyes steam

You for whom I long

You who made me strong

But for now we are apart

How could I feel smart?

For letting you slip way

Loneliness my price to pay

But one day I will re-win her heart

Not half, not some, not part

My heart, she holds the keys

Baby come back, be mine, please

You really get the point across with your choice of descriptive words. Things like: "You who makes my eyes steam". I think it needs more of that but definitely a strong little poem, glad I had the pleasure of reading it! Keep writing!
