forgotten

forgotten

A Poem by james l navas

Swept under the carpet
discarded as a pile of rubbish,
Forgotten is the existence of a soul
hidden by the shell,
trapped inside the failures of the body
tormented by its shortcomings.
No solace offered,
The pain hidden.
The fake smile the forced posture,
a talent of its own right.
To hide the true emotions
to fight through another day
to hope for light,
light to penetrate the tunnel
of apparently eternal darkness.
A light - one light - the light
to defeat the suffering
the pain, the failure
so cleverly hidden.
A talent in its own right.
To hide such clear pain
A talent hidden from the world
Still a talent in its own right.

So heart wrenching. I liked the way you expressed your emotions.
