Cut the flow

Cut the flow

A Poem by james l navas

I sit in the dark.
surrounded, warm water
comforts,
eventually even this turns.
Biting.
exposed flesh turns raw,
I cut the flow
Succumb to the cold
pain protect me
shelter me
I can't see.
Water once rinsed
 clean
almost pure
free from emotion
anything could be forced to drain,
But I cut the
flow.
exposed myself
sacrificed inside
to save flesh,

I like the feeling in this piece. I have written about the solace of my bathtub but this is something else entirely. I like the contract you have within using "clean, pure, biting, pain" Very well put together
