The heart is what everything should mean

I guess you can call me a heart-breaker

I tried everything that I could to make things better

But it seems like I’ve hurt you so bad that you want to do the same to me now

And I know you are trying to make things work because you are still around

You are acting like you don’t care and I want to scream out loud

I slowly see your emotions spilling out as time passes by

It’s been a while since I see a light in your eyes

Emotions of anger and neglect because I let you down

It’s like listening straight in your chest and into your heart

There is no sound

But I just want you to take a second and realize that people do learn from their mistakes

And I will do whatever it takes

And if I could fly to the moon and back I would do it

And if I could run towards the NYC bridge and get you some cheesecake I would do it

But all I ask is that you don’t give up on our love

And yes no one is saying that this isn’t going to be tough

With all our ups and downs and with all of our guilts

I don’t believe in compromise or deals

Because love is not something that two people should compromise on

And I don’t believe that either of us is right or wrong

Because we repeated those vows and we should learn how to fix things

These rings shouldn’t mean a thing because the heart is what everything should mean
