Final

Final

A Poem by Wyrn Tiger

The final touch, the final moment before it ends.

Wishing the one last second was one more day,

but as the minute hits the hour, big tears start to shower.

I would have held you closer and memorized your love

if I’d only know you’d soon pass away.

Wishing one more minute, one more day, to be with you.

Thinking back to the moments before your heart grew still.

dear Wyrn... the final touch
as the Spirit leaves like the wind...
you will feel the breeze now and then...

as Joni Mitchell sang in Big Yellow Taxi..."you don't know what you've got till it's gone"
we are more missed after we pass than we are paid attention to when we are still around.

I think she knows...even if you never got to tell her.

Thank you. I needed that.
A beautiful expressed sincere heartfelt poem of a love one passing away before your eyes. Very touching, sensitive and sweet. Made me picture these young lovers and the dreadful emotions of grief soon after her death.
