Mental Hell Ground

Mental Hell Ground

A Poem by John B

Standing silent amongst the crowd
Does anyone notice that I wear a frown?
It's not on my face for all to see,
Instead I wear it deep inside of me.
So many things that I find are not right
I don't have the will to change or fight.
Motivation has been sucked away
By a love who stands near me everyday.
I don't understand why it works this way,
Isn't love suppose to inspire you each day?
Yet I find myself more withdrawn and alone
Penning my thoughts into another poem.
Am I wrong to think it should be different?
Why do I feel like it's a sin I should repent?
Freedom of spirit is so important to me
But I feel trapped and unable to see.
What happen to the world I long for?
Instead I hide my anger deep in my core.
Frustration plays out in subtle actions
I cannot help that these are my reactions.
My mind splinters into warring voices
Bickering over what might be my choices.
Insanity becomes my word of the day
In a mental hell ground that I play.
Advice comes from far and wide
But step in my shoes and see my side.
Love has died but compassion has not
Just walking away puts my stomach in a knot.
I know they would eventually be fine
But it would take a lot of time.
I guess they tried their best
But I am more difficult than the rest.
I don't point the finger and pass blame
I'm the one who lost the flame.
So trapped I remain expecting the worst
When things finally run their course.
Weep not for me or my pain,
Caring for me is nothing to gain.
Just notice my frown and maybe smile
Don't try on my shoes and walk that mile.

I really love this poem because you are being so honest about your feelings, even if they are mixed. "Advice comes from far and wide, but step in my shoes and see my side." - You are so right, people are so quick to offer their advice, yet they never understand the situation. Great write, I really enjoyed it.
