Virtual Dream

Show me some place new,
Something I have never seen.
Take me away to a foreign land,
And reveal to me some hidden secret.
Reality or fantasy, I do not care.
Hours, days, months and years
Are meaningless as I wander on.
Family and friends do not understand.
I travel to get away,
To hide from that which haunts me,
To escape from the demons that hound me.
Show me something different.
Nothing is ever static here,
Always changing and growing.
Some place that hides my face,
An anonymous traveler in the shadows.
Never revealing more than I choose,
A new persona that disguises the truth,
Cloaking from everyone my secret,
Keeping me from myself in a virtual dream.
