Age of Suffering

Age of Suffering

A Poem by Daniel-Andre
"

A legendary song sung by the Dark Knight`s Amazon Slayers as they marched into battle. According to rumours, it was a request to the ancient Cornish Lords for strength and luck in combat.

"

Age of Suffering

Glory!

We shall bear its weight together, through blood and sores!

One invincible force, we are the dominant power, brothers all!

An everlasting glory, our enemies will cringe in the oblivion`s darkness!

We shall banish our foes to the depths of the devil`s realm, brothers all!

Valour!

We will achieve it together, through sweat and struggle!

We, the wandering retaliation of mankind, brothers all!

As we march, our oppressors will tremble at the sight of our supremacy!

Death to the weak, their inferiority they shall experience, brothers all!

Terror!

We shall inflict it in the eyes of our invaders, through death and destruction!

The walking face of death, we are the army`s proudest, brothers all!

Fleeing like scalded dogs, the enemy shall find no comfort!

At the tip of our arms, they shall feel our wrath, brothers all!

Victory!

Nothing less expected, we shall embrace it through our cohesion!

Down with the evil, the Age of Suffering shall be quelled, brothers all!

The ultimate victors, we forge our triumph from the flames of this war!

Greeting our leaders on the awaited homecoming, we shall salute, brothers all!

Peace!

The greatest achievement, we shall celebrate it through a lasting harmony!

With the vicious driven out, we will maintain order, brothers all!

Warriors of the Inner Council, the brethren all brothers look up to, these men we shall follow!

Leading us to greater glory, the peace they will secure, brothers all!

It would be heart pounding song if we sung along, knowing the melody and music.

Nice writing, though I do not know who the Knight is.

Great.

sure thing. well written
I actually read the whole poem like i was really marching with these warriors. Damn, that's powerful. I love that the words you used are friendly..which means to say not highfaluting. What more can i say? I think this piece deserves to be used in a speech choir or something. It would be awesome. Good job Daniel.

Also, it's ironic how peace is attained through war and destruction...that thought is poetic to me.

Daniel-Andre..I really liked this poem, as it is different from my own style. But I like the forcefulness in which you alluded to to drive out 'evil'! I think it resonates wonderfully with today's world. Not to mention that the mother of my son is Norwegian, and so, I was introduced a little bit to the Nordic culture. Thank you. (=
