One final selfish plea

One final selfish plea

A Poem by Ashes of Apathy
"

Here lye words of fear and regret

"

Can you remember back to the days and times?

The wind was at our back.

We didn’t know back than that what we had,

was pebbles on a beach,

that aptly chose for us

the time and place

(a fall from grace)

we would wash to sea.

So now that you are gone,

What’s left of you,

Is now what’s left of me.

We left our innocence on 29th

and Wadsworth Boulevard.

It seemed like yesterday

a stormy haze,

had moved across the sky.

As time was standing still,

a test of will,

a man had closed his eyes.

I dropped down to my knees,

and screamed out  to the skys.

Our time has now become

a loaded gun.

Rain on apathy.

We rage

we pray,

for peace,

our last of request,

one final selfish plea.

If you arrive

on time

before my soul,

will you wait for me?

-jr
