And tips the saucer of the moon

And tips the saucer of the moon

A Poem by Drake Ryder

The cat, sleeping on a mat
seems quite domestic, and yet
in majestic dreams, he prowls
and pounces on a small mouse
as he opens wide his jowls.
The cat, sleeping on a mat
seems quite domestic, and yet
in majestic dreams, he has power
and strays from the dusky afternoon;
pads along the milky way,
tips the saucer of the moon.

We all know that felines consider themselves omnipotent, yet, somehow, manage to remain unable to open their own food cans! See my poem "Catalogged". Then again, who among us is NOT onmipotent, in his dreams?
