teardrops of August

A Poem by joshua deathdealer

"

I ran away from you

                      I put as much distance

as I possibly could so

                      that our love may die

I turned my back to you

showing you that forever is futile

and that giving up is

                      easier than fighting

Hope fell with my spirit

                      before a vast rising of

new and horrific emotions

pushing my anxieties to the limit

Wasted dreams fueled

my quick demise as I have

remained motionless in

exact spot where I left you

I cannot

                       tear myself away

from the

                       memories of your presence

This beautifully captures how though we may try, what we run from nearly always has its way of creeping back into our lives, or igniting a repressed memory.

"showing you that forever is futile" love, love, loved that line. It's perfect.

Wonderful writing, as always!

This is inspirational. I know the feeling, I left her there and I was too affraid to fight. But then she moved away befoe I could undo what I did. Now I have all this love for the girl I'll never see again. I can't let her go.

"I cannot tear myself away
from the memories of your presence"

That is the best line ever. I connect to that so well because it has become my life.

Dear Josh, I admire your work,
It has strength, and wisdom here,
Choose to move on, is sometimes
The hardest thing to do... when someone
Is tattood in your heart. But when it not works,
You made a right choice...

Beautiful and haunting. Reminded me of "if you love someone, set them free" mixed with the pain of a broken heart. Lovely work!

it's funny how the presence of someone can linger on way past their expiration date. These memories can keep us running in place forever I swear.
