When something ends a bit badly,

It isn't always a mistake,

Sometimes, we are reckless with our lives

And don't think things through enough

Before acting upon our thoughts,

We often must pick through a lot

Of fool's gold before a rare diamond is

In essence, think before you speak and speak before you act. It's so easy for people to say the first idea that comes to their mind. Unfortunately, this is often the "knee-jerk" response and better left unsaid. Then, even after digging through responses to find an appropriate one, people will often act without saying what the heck they're doing. I've been guilty of this behavior and have been often reminded that no one can read my mind.

So, we should do our best to maintain positive thoughts and talk with others before we make decisions that may have big ramifications in our life.
