Chapter 45

Robbie sat on her apartment watching TV when there's a knock at the door. She gets up and goes to open the door to see Charlie stood there. Robbie says "Charlie. Hey. Why didn't you use your keys?"
Charlie says "Incase."
Robbie says "There's only me here."
Charlie says "Not my business. Came to pick up my stuff and give these back."
Charlie passes Robbie a set of keys. Robbie says "The club keys are on here."
Charlie says "I know."
Robbie says "You make it what it is."
Charlie says "My backpack still here?"
Robbie says "In the wardrobe." Charlie walks past Robbie into the bedroom, opens the wardrobe, grabs the backpack and starts stuffing clothes into it. "Do you have to do this now?"
Charlie says "The quicker it's done, the better. Besides, Leigh's asleep."
Robbie says "She doesn't know you're here?"
Charlie says "You kidding?"
Robbie says "Not my biggest fan right now, is she?"
Charlie says "Nope. The whole your hand, my face thing didn't go down real well with her."
Robbie says "I'm sorry, Charlie."
Charlie gets up, turns to Robbie and says "I think I've got everything."
Robbie says "She told me, you know."
Charlie says "Who told you what?"
Robbie says "Yvette. She told me what happened at the hospital today."
Charlie says "She told you? She can lose her job for that."
Robbie says "For telling me you stopped Leigh attacking her?"
Charlie says "Oh, that. Well, Leigh shouldn't have done that."
Robbie says "What did you think I was talking about?"
Charlie says "Doesn't matter. I'd better go."
Charlie goes to the door. Robbie says "Charlie, wait."
Charlie says "What for?"
Robbie hands Charlie a small bunch of keys and says "It's your club."
Charlie gives the keys back to Robbie and says "No, it's your club."
Robbie says "We didn't get to talk earlier."
Charlie says "Whose fault was that?"
Robbie says "Can we try again?"
Charlie says "What?"
Robbie says "Can we try to talk again?"
Charlie says "Not right now and I don't think you've got anything to say I want to hear."
Charlie leaves.
