The Enlightenment of My Faith

The world is on fire

With natural and human made flame

Still it is and always will be God who Inspires

If you dare to enlighten in the faith

Only He can make all this pain fade

He is the God of the living and the dead

A metaphor that means so much

Yet is the path to an endless love

I have made so many mistakes

Which is why my 43 years have resulted in endless heartaches

I thought because of love we shouldnt be guilty of what we have done

No matter how lonely something bound you and me only

But time and space keeps us apart

Maybe we are not destined with the entwined heart

Yet he and they still call

Only wanting the snuggle after all

Sometimes I too want the touch

Then I realize its me craving that drug

So I gave up all my vices

To dear tequila and vodka I also said goodbye with tears in my eyes

They were my friends in the best years of life

I said goodbye to the married man

But when he went to Albuquerquefor work

he bought me a souvenir t shirt

He took an uber to drop it off

At the gate he gave me a kiss with tongue

Since that night its all i dream of

i let it go

I know i am supposed to close the door

its all a game for all these human shadows

its like they threw out their heart forever more

But not me

Even if I remain single and lonely permanently

The romantic in me will be for eternity

I hear God speak He wants me

He is the true master of poetry

He is the only one to understand

even as the world drowns in this quicksand

I know there is no reason to be afraid

I feel the enlightenment of my faith.
