Upside-Down JarA Poem by JRDelight of the humming bird she only stays so briefly to dip rosebud of her tongue into the sweetness I offered in an upside-down jar held aloft by a wire; She scintillates in the sun, her wings a blur of green gold and a whisper of blue she stays true for a breath licks the red juice from her beak; She disappears with a brush of air, her beautiful little body merging with the trees and the air; So I sit here, with my beard in my hands, awaiting the next beautiful little body to sip from the sweetness I have offered in an upside-down bell jar. © 2020 JRFeatured Review
