Sanctuary

Sanctuary

A Poem by J.S. Oh

Take me away from here, take me away to another place
Where hopes and dreams have never left
Where the ocean is golden and the sky burns in eternal sunset

There's a voice in my head that sits on these beaches
And whispers sweet platitudes just as I seek them
Peace, he tells me, for I will always be here
In this place where time is endless and pain forgotten
Just close your eyes and take a breath
And I will take you away, take you to another place

Are you God, I ask him
But all I hear are the waves crashing
But I know how strong his shoulder feels
As I rest my head, watching the sky burn its eternal sunset

Are you real, I ask him
But before he could answer, I take back my question
Because if I could pretend for even just a moment more
In this place where time was endless and pain forgotten
Then truth didn't matter to me anymore

Take me away from here, take me away to another place
Where hopes and dreams have never left
Where the ocean is golden and the sky burns in eternal sunset

Take a dip, he tells me, in this ocean that is golden
And let me teach you how to live once more
And in the golden waters i take my first breath
And sing the high praise of the beauty before
For through the waters, the burning sky spoke of salvation one more

Have no fear, he tells me, for I am yours
In this place where time is endless and pain forgotten
Just close your eyes and take a breath

And I will take you away, take you away to another place

How beautiful it can be a faiths inspiration. Even if not held by thee, for I see you question he whose shoulder your head rests upon. Even still just though inspiring. Enough to write this eloquence? Perhaps.bravo bravo
