Racing the words

Racing the words

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Might as well get to the point.
It takes me a little extra time to share a witty comment.
Easiest way to put it,
the last few words did me in.

Bare with me.

I might be a touch irritable.

Nothing new,
 but maybe less controlled?

Now,
realizing some might take this for a blatant attempt for attention,
  I will take my leave.

I like how the punchline is that there is no punchline Jon, sometimes less is indeed more and can be more than relateable to the easily distracted. That's without even mentioning humour being the best medicine, especially in these constricted days... Or it would be if I didn't mention what I said goes without mentioning.
Me bad.

and you will leave knowing you said just enough to get our attention...
and long for some kind of closure to your words.
always racing with the words, and usually losing, i am.
