a new trick

a new trick

A Poem by Judy McIntosh
"

aabb poem

"
The night, wet and stormy ,flashes of wrath
babysitter yawned, too tired for math.
A loud clap of thunder, then after the boom,
a voice on the monitor, from the kid's room!

She ran up the stairs, powered by panic,
praying for courage, not to get frantic.
Opening the door, she slowly walked in.
No one was there, just the kid with a grin.

A cute little trick, just recently learned
to start the tv, which knob she must turn.
Relieved, she lay the child down again,
not seeing the face through the windowpane.

Wow! So cute and jubilant...then all of a sudden chills on my arm knowing they weren't alone. Cleverly written.

this bought a smile to my face ...
I like the twelve line journey that it is ... all with a twist of the unknown right at the end ..

great work x x
