The Day After

The Day After

A Poem by Jules
"

Some of my favorite writings come from hurt, lost and sadness. Sometimes that's unfortunate.

"

How could I have been so stupid

How did I not see this coming

My brain is numb

I see tiny scratches on the world

Through my eyes

I can't believe this is real

Remember, you don't lie

I forgive, forget and let go

My heart has been beaten

A thousand times before

I'm drenched in your tears

As they fall from my eyes

I can't wake up from this nightmare

I just want to die

Your melancholy nature

Shows no heart or soul

I'll be with you no longer

As I see now, we were never even whole
