Create and Destroy

Create and Destroy

A Poem by Julianne

Burn my castle,
And I shall
Rebuild from the ashes.
Drown my kingdom,
And I shall start anew.
For I can breathe under water
And turn sunken cities
Into bustling sovereigns.
My God is my hands
In which
I turn these stones into statues.
My ashes are my charcoal.
My blood is my paint.
My wreckage my canvas.
I can create art from chaos,
For my power comes from within --
Where no man, immortal, or beast
Can drain me.

I suppose in a way we are our own, "gods,"
and in a way we are not.
We are in a sense, because of the way that get to shape our own world. We get to "create" our own world, so to speak. We get to build up our own realities, to an extent. There will always be outside contributing factors that partly control it, but we always make the final choices.

You should be very proud of yourself. One for the power and inner strength you display here.
Then second, for the poem itslef, which I happen to think is incredible.

Good philosophy here. True power does come from within.
