The Difference

The Difference

A Poem by Diamondjules
"

Ah, such is the life of meeting someone new......

"

"I have no heart", he said.

"I am an a*****e", he said.

Was I to believe him?

Experience has told me that when a man says those things, he means it.  And it is up to the woman to try to 'fix' him' or 'see past it', or.........believe him.  I have tried all three ways.

Shall I choose the latter?

From what I saw in his torquoise, deep blue eyes, said different.

From the way he treated me with gentleness and care, said different.

The way he touched me, kissed me, made love to me...said different.

I saw past pain ...  behind those beautiful blue, stormy eyes.  As I have seen the same in the mirror behind my own, eyes of dark brown.

I saw someone that loves women and used to take full advantage of them in his youth.  In a way like all hot guys do to women - sexually fulfill them.  And the women and he, were glad of it.

I saw someone that when he smiles, his eyes light up at me.

He flashes a toothy white grin ... it was obvious ... meant only for me.

He guards his heart.....As I will guard mine.

Until the day I prove him wrong with his declarations

Or he proves me right

That he was telling the truth

Then ...

There may be no difference at all.

This is a good poem, it made me think of the one I did
and had published in a book of mine "Reflections of My Soul"

Wanted to share it, hope you don't mind

"She's A Woman"

She cries
She loves
She hides her emotions
She's your companion
She's your woman
Treat her like one
~
She's a lady
She's graceful
In every way she moves
The way she carries herself
Like wild flowers swaying
In the sunlit fields
Vibrant with color
If not nourished with warmth
She will diminish in color
~
They cry
They love us
They show their emotions
They're our companions
They're our women
Let's treat them delicately
Let's nourish their souls
Hungry for love
They will let us know
When they want to be
Satisfied

This is a really beautiful write.. "He flashes a toothy white grin ... it was obvious ... meant only for me." I love that line, those grins are the best!

I like your style of poetry. Normally, I tend to shy away from poems, because a reader can't always see what you want them to see, but your writing flows well.
Good job!

It is a good way to show that there is still faith, still kindness. I've given up already, and I'm not even legal yet! (That's an inside joke for those in the know...)

But anyway...

It flows well, and it shows a woman's thoughts. I love how you've written this, so yeah...

Through my experience it is rare for either of the sexes to see past the beauty on the outside and feel the beauty within. I think through our teaching here on earth we are taught that our real love is money and satisfaction. Well written my sister.

Very nice! Few men, younger or even older, ever learn to appreciate beyond the physical beauty. Even fewer learn to appreicate the inner beauty that is Woman.
