Don't Press The Red Button

Don't Press The Red Button

A Poem by Juliette LaBelle
"

I was just thinking about buttons, and how you're never supposed to touch the red one.

"

There is a button,

And you're not supposed to touch it.

But oh how tempting,

That shiny red button can be.

And when you're alone,

With this button,

You were told,

"Do not press the red button."

Of course you try.

You try so hard,

Not to think about that button.

But then,

It becomes too much.

Your finger twitches,

Stretches,

Moves closer.

A moment of pause,

Build the suspense.

And then....

KABOOM!!!

...I told you not to press the red button...

It is refreshing to see writers who can take anything around them and turn it into something worthwhile. We're all expecting it to go Kaboom, but what if something completely unexpected happens instead?
