Loving-kindness

Loving-kindness

A Poem by Doug Blair

Loving-kindness

Have I forgotten

And pushed it

Way to the back

No real forgiveness

A bluff for

The grace I lack?

His were some

Hurtful words

Hurled in a

Moment’s pain

Can I

Approach the bar

Giving true

Love again?

If not I

Fail to see

How Christ has

Suffered me

Suffered my

Wandering eyes

Half-truths

And jealousies

Now is a

Chance to prove

Strange and

Transforming love

Hugging my

Hurting friend

No ploy as

Clenched fists end.
