Journy to a Reason

Journy to a Reason

A Poem by Justice

Why, oh why

Does that tear dress your eye?

Is it the words they say?

They hurt you yesterday.

Today is here.

Have no fear.

All they have are empty words,

Empty hearts,

Empty souls.

Was it the violence given to you?

The physical pain did this to you?

They beat you with all their fists,

Now your eyes are filled with mists.

These bruises and scrapes will fade,

Your body can be remade.

All they have are transient pains,

Broken bones,

Black blood.

Who was it that did this?

Who ever, they didn’t miss.

They took what you had,

Now you’re empty, lost, mad.

Who has crushed your will,

Driven you down to this pill?

All they do is chip away,

Ever so slightly,

Tearing you apart.

Don’t be afraid of me.

I just want you to see,

Life is still fine,

Just give it time.

You’re only chipped.

Yes, it feels ripped,

No, not yet broken,

Fight what is spoken.

Endure this pain,

Wash it in the rain.

Persevere this dry season,

You always have a reason.

This is really good Sam. I know poems don't have to rhyme but I like it that it does. Who is this to?
