Shattered Heart

Shattered Heart

A Poem by David Kaminsky
"

A million pieces..... so hard to put together.

"

I turn into a ferocious monster.

Swallowing all those around me.

Yelling from the torn pieces of myself,

That somehow hopes to heal itself in echoes,

But ends up into crackling dust.

I can't seem to start the furnace,

That heats to the earth's core,

That compresses the smallest grains,

That melts these pebbled sand,

Into fragile glass.

All cracks and scars healed,

All tints and colors clear,

It stands and absorbs all light.

Yet one foul blow,

Shatters the weak figure,

Releasing the cracks and lashes,

Into fierce rebellion.
