misery personified

misery personified

A Poem by Karina
"

this should be read quickly-- it seems more natural that way, because thats how i wrote it.

"

scratching the roof of my mouth

strangely ticklish fantasy

as if by touching it i can escape

always there has been an island reserved

at the tip of the world in a cone of isolation

raindrops falling leaf from leaf

underscore the silence in surprise

funny how the feeling of sudden satisfaction

can creep up from straight ahead

the tunnel of light engulfs the train of thought

symphonies of ideas carried into darkness

meeting bittersweet ends unexecuted

no one, nothing as pure or unnatural as an

unsatisfactory emotion besot by thunder

carried on petals of earthly apocalyptic bosch

delights unswallowed like horse pills on an infant's

tongue.  to be young, moving toward the light again.
