fire in my veins

fire in my veins

A Poem by Karina
"

it's hard to describe

"

it's rather incredible

that the fire you send into my veins

doesn't consume my flesh

it burns so whole

never scarring, only constructing

i love that you always know what i mean

no one else does

when i'm lying awake looking for a shadow

i can never find any of doubt

it's rather incredible

that the fire you send into my heart

doesn't eat me alive

Fire in my veins might be interpreted to mean
drugs causing a high. I prefer to think you are
singing of love and fire in the veins suggests an
erotic involvement.
The poem is well constructed, shows the writer
has a lot of imagination, is a good writer and
demonstrates this gift with a smooth, flowing poem.

Sometimes we have feelings that just amaze us to the point of becoming dumbfounded...
This is an interesting and productive expression of what we can not express....
