Drucilla's Bite

Drucilla's Bite

A Poem by karmic

He loves her
He exhales the smoke and his vision begins to blur
He loves her, he repeats again
The weight of the words quivers his skin

Hips sway to a mellifluous rhythm
He prays she saved the last dance for him
He watches her oscillate back-and-forth as he stands at the door
He loves her, he repeated to himself once more

For these scattered petals don't lie!
This conspicuous beauty has captured more than his eye
These florid petals hold no lies!
Her body's undulating motion leaves him hypnotized

And not even this crepuscular light
Can hide her sublimity from his sight
For he swears she is the lambent ghost with means to bind
The way she ravages and haunts the halls of his mind

This everlasting light
Reminds him solely of lost nights
Everlasting light
And ravenous lust grasp him tight

For it wasn't her smile nor her kiss
That filled him with bitter sweet emptiness
It was the suffering of a blight
That he now calls Drucilla's bite
