My mask

My mask

A Poem by karmic
"

Wearing a mask for too long makes you lose youself.

"

I look around me to see everything is still the same

What was once a beautiful home

Turned to be a dreadful house

At one time I was happy

That was before the poison called reality reached my veins

My voice echoes off the walls

But never heard by anyone else

I feel weak, useless

I just wait, I just wait for this hate to fill me up like a glass

So I could finally break

Spilling all over society

Like it has done to me countless times

Break I whisper to myself

While my heart differs from my mind

Separating me into to different people

People I still don’t know

Everyday

Every f*****g day I must put on this mask

Cover who I really I’m

But like the glass this mask is also cracking

And then everyone will see who I’ am

And how beautiful my mind is

Or they will hate me find me unusual

See me as insane

But only time will tell

Until then I shall let this mask crack……..so I could once again be happy….

Wow this one is really nice! I can tell you're really speaking from the heart when you wrote this. Its full of emotion. One thing, it seems that this hated region in yourself is makeing you put on this mask, it's told you that if you don't wear it people won't like you. But try cutting the strings that the mask has bound to you, I think you'll be surprised at the warm reception you recieve if people see your true self and the beautiful mind you have. Let the mask crack, you are not your mask.

Nice job! I like how emotional this piece is. The rhythm is free flowing, and yet slightly formulated.
