Crimson Sky

Crimson Sky

A Poem by Kathy Van Kurin

To the depths of ebbing sunset-sky horizon;
vivid coral and gold echo
within a rainbow's wash across heaven's expanse.

I pull away in thought,just for a moment
Pondering,until my attention is again pulled back
to the above spacious grace of God's glorious art-piece.

These eyes behold joy's beauty once again.

Heaven's panorama; Glow upon glow,
 almost a pulse matches my heart.
This soul longs to fly into Heaven's blazing glory
 just for a while, amidst rainbow layers falling upward!

Precious is the gift of ready sky being held at no cost;
simply to accept, to will, to wait;
Till again come glimpses of God's presence
in the thrill of the next sunset!

'.. .. back ~ to the above spacious grace of God's glorious art-piece. '

Life can so easily run away with us these days, clock watching, finger stroking/tapping technology, busy roads, filling each day as if it were a week long. And all the time, second after second we can miss what you have so beautifully written about, both visual and spiritual.

Life itself is a panorama presented Mankind to be seen, impressed but calmed by.. and, most of all, to find glory in. Your belief, your respect, your empathy with land and man.. is a gift rarely shared so beautifully.

This kind of moved me more than just a little bit. I notice beauty all around yet rarely do I stop and give credit to the 'great architect of the universe' as do you my dear literary friend. Maybe I need to give this more consideration.....AGT's N

A very sensuous poem....

Lovely description and vocabulary; taking the reader deep into the scenery that you survey.

An eloquently written piece, infused with hope and wonder for the simple beauty of the setting sun.
Nice work.

This is such a warm inspiring poem Kathy, I see you pondering in thought and being pulled back again by the magnificence of his presence, by his glory, this is such a peaceful place to be at. To see Gods glory in things around us and by that only finding peace is supernatural and a miracle. This is to say that peace is everywhere, we just need to find it and connect ourselves to the source of peace. I like the tranquility that shines through this poem, it has encouraged me. Thank you for sharing

I love a sunset. I love a sunrise too but in the UK we are very often 'with cloud' prohibiting real fireworks or colours like those you describe here so very well.
This poem can be my substitute on those gray cloudy days.
I love this Kathy.
