Not seen but still real

Not seen but still real

A Poem by Kathy Van Kurin
"

The extravagance of moments gone running into a stream of gold- those continuing into future realities.

"

Not seen but still real

Light casts a shadow and is caught.

Shade ponders our impermanence.

We may feel inadequate as a shadow.

Light and dark push against one another.

Contrasts need tension to be real.

We are shades within this life palette.

Wake up call, be aware, appreciate

Any opportunity to leave our mark,

Any shadow in this world.

Are we light or are we a shadow?

Sometimes just being a shadow,

A witness to another’s light is enough.

In this cycle of repeated opportunities

We walk and struggle through rooms,

Through seasons of light and shadow.

For now, till then.

Oh, the tremendous blessing of struggle.

We are alive to cry, to exalt in these times

Of light and dark, of life.

Let us ponder this year not yet known.

We have lived, we live still.

Kathy Van Kurin
How do we feel about the future- for we cannot control all things in life. What, how, who do we depend?

Poetically explained and expressed, Kathy. I like the comparisons between lights and shadows. The future is hiding behind the eyes of the present. But we must do the best we can. Tyfs!!!

you're quite welcome
dear Kathy... I think of the "tension" on a sewing machine...
it has to be set perfectly, or it cannot create the fine stitches
that we need. So it is in life, our "tension" needs to be set perfectly,
to be able to help others and ourselves. Bless You and keep you in
His care. truly, Pat

Ooooooooo! This is different!!! I’ve not read this kind of a piece from you before. I LIKE IT! I have read this over and over. I love the palette visual but one line that stands out to me:
Sometimes just being a shadow,
A witness to another’s light is enough.
All the lines are amazing! This line is jam packed with ponder. It’s like chewing on a piece of meat! I will have to shelf this one so I can savor all the goodness out of it. I’m just sorry i haven’t stopped by Sooner!
Love this one!
