Mistaken

Mistaken

A Poem by Kaotic Barbie
"

Its not whats on the outside. (Don't be mistaken)

"
I am a blind bat, finding my way.
Wondering how beautiful it might look.
Wishing for a mirror I could see just once.
So I can know who I am, saint or crook.

But looks are not the answer to my question.
Let my inner coward suddenly awaken.
Because if looks are all I'm in it for,
Then guess what world, I'm totally mistaken.

My body can buy whatever it wants.
But to be sold is more like being taken.
You can never get your sanity back after that.
Make sure your not mistaken.

And the beauty in the mirror might catch the eye.
But it's inside that gets the real gold.
And if it takes you a lifetime to figure this out,
You can never say you haven't been told.

You can catch all kinds of fish with those eyes.
But without your soul you will be forsaken.
You can buy a barbie doll anywhere.
Try not to be mistaken.

Let your gift wrap untie itself to a beautiful soul.
And let your fearfulness be unshaken.
because our world is just an illusion on the outside.
Please do not be mistaken.

Well Done! And so eloquently written! Beauty is only skin deep.

I think you are right of course it took me some time to learn this lesson. Looks are so deceiving as to the real person inside. What may look beautiful to the eye often can be toxic to the heart.
