Never Alone

Never Alone

A Poem by Kia

 Who do I become

Who was I

Never had dreams

Of what I wanted to be

When I grew up

Too busy fighting

For what I can't even remember

So here I am

Lost and Alone

Just like I was years ago

Nothing seems to have changed

But the years gone by

Wait

Now I see

Alone? No

I'm here

To look within self

I can see

So my journey begins

And where I end

Only God knows

You may or may not know this, but this is the kind of poem that wins a nobel prize. I do not have a nobel, but I know genius when I see it. You are truly a gift to poets, and that is not flattery! I'm embarrased to say that I stumbled upon your profile. I wish I could say something more than that. Your penmanship is powerful and thought provoking, original, and deep. I do not know where you have been hiding. No doubt, if you take poetry serious, you will stand on the stage with the greatest of your era. Bravo! bravo! bravo!

Let me tell you, this is beautiful. I look back at myself often and wonder . . . have I ever changed? I feel so much the same, alone . . . but it is good to 'look inside' one's self. I love this. I really look forward to reading more of your work.

"Too busy fighting, for what I can't even remember."
This took me back a few years, and the feeling was not nostalgic in origin. Instead it brought with it a ringing sense of sadness. And a poem that can do that is a powerful statement indeed. Excellent poem.
