The Gift Of A Star

The Gift Of A Star

A Poem by Israfell
"

About special people in comparison to stars.

"

sometimes I wish I could fly

I could reach out and press my hand to the nearest star

my wings battering behind me, my face cold from the brisk air

and sometimes I wish I could grab it and hold it in my hand

the burning electricity sending waves of content through my body, not pain

I could bring it back down to earth, my wings folding back, hidden from view

and give it to someone I love

"here. this is for someone special. there's only one."

and they would take it and give it to someone else they deemed special

someone who shines the brightest to them

someone who shines brighter than the gift of a star
