The Voice

The Voice

A Poem by Kiera Scanlon

I am the voice of those afraid to speak,
I am the voice of those you call weak,

I am the voice of those alone,

I am the voice of those unknown,

I am the voice of those who've made a mistake,

I am the voice of those who can’t escape,

I am the voice of those you make cry,

I am the voice of those who dream to die,

I am the voice of those with scars on their hearts,

I am the voice of those torn apart,

I am the voice of those you blame,

I am the voice of those you shame,

I am the voice of those you hurt everyday,
I am the voice of those you betray,

I am the voice of those who are strong,
I am the voice of something so wrong,

I am the voice of those who wrote a note to say goodbye,
I am the voice of those whose families were left wondering why,

I am the voice of those you offend,
I am the voice of you, my friend.

Beautifully done poem, but is there s'posed to be a "?" after "everyday"

It's good to have a voice.

The last line allowed me to perfectly understand the situation. Yes, I love it and this will become my favorite:) However when you write
"I am the voice of those you hurt everyday?" I'm not sure if the question mark belongs there.

I am the voice of those who wrote a note to
say goodbye,
I am the voice of those whose families were
left wondering why,
I am the voice of those you offend,
I am the voice of you, my friend.

Yeah, you are the voice of wondering wind
who moan for rest and rest can never find.
Awsome one and great poetry.

That last line ties up your cacophony of voices perfectly. I enjoyed the rhyme and the message in this poem.
