Black Rose

Black Rose

A Poem by Queen of Hearts

A cry for help
    That none can hear
A soft little yelp
That no one can clear

A tear that glides down
Wets the face
And intensifies the frown
Yet not leaving a trace

A cruel little game
That everyone plays
Yet there is no blame
But it makes a craze

Eyes shut close
Awaiting the worst
Like a black rose
Ready to burst
