A Misty World

A Misty World

A Poem by Kevin Andros

When you live, and realize that you are not really alive.

I look out the washed up windows,
and see the world moving by,
and begin to wonder,
what is going on outside.

It was all simple before,
the words were single before,
now everything seems sketchy,
Shaded with lines that are grey.

The Changes,
The times,
they move on,
not letting you know,
and then it hits you,
when you look for something
that was known,
was familiar,
and all you see is a mist,
and strange landscapes,
and you wonder,
what is going on.

I look out the washed up windows,
with misty eyes and a heavy throat,
watching the world turn,
turn into ashes,
as my insides,
but inside all of the dust,
you'll still find,
the tiny lamp burning inside.
