the wise crow

the wise crow

A Poem by khalid
"

people spoil everything..

"

On a windy day, and on the top of a high tree,

Which branches shake looking to be dancing

I saw Mr Crow, on the top of the highest

Happily dancing and singing

He looked to be saying…I am the king..

I felt curious to ask him, one thing

Oh Mr. Crow, why do you look happy,

While people say you look so ugly?!

And why are you singing loudly,

While your voice is not pretty?!

If a human sees you in the morning, he gets upset and pessimistic and  says

Oh what an awful day!

He looked at me, thought for a while and started to say;

You people are so silly

You drive me crazy really

You are very poor, you make me pity

On you

You think because I look black, I am ugly

Who said that black is not pretty?

And even if it is not, do I have the will to look in it?

While you, with complete will, choose to wear it!

You don’t like my voice, but do you like your noise?

And if someone sees me and succeeds, he will say;

I have done it, I am the best

But if he fails, on me he hangs his failure!

Why do you only compare my appearance to your appearance?

Come on. Lets also compare our morals!

Have you ever seen a crow killing another crow? you do!

Or a male crow in relation with a male?

Or a female crow in love with another female?

You are unfair in God, will I expect you to be fair with me?

Every group of you have different belief, different language, will you be the same in thinking of me?

Just go away, and let me

Sing happily and listen to my wife reply to me

So my kids feel safe and secure hearing their mother and me

I felt ashamed that I am a human being..hoped I were….A CROW!

I like this tale. I want to be a crow too. You allowed the crow to teach a very good lesson. We can learn many things from the animal kingdom. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poem.

I love the concept and the idea or message behind this. It kind of reminds me of one of Langston Hughes' poems...I can't remember the name of it. This is really good work.
