un Coeur Brulant

un Coeur Brulant

A Poem by kij143

And here I lay my breaths shaky and quick

And of all the wants, it makes me sick.

To hear you say another’s name,

While my thoughts are chocked, I cry in shame.

To taste a drop of liquid rush

And the blood burning through my veins, I blush

I lust for water, for I can no longer cry

As my thirst is stronger, and from thirst I die

And my blood it boils, my heart it burns,

My thoughts disperse, my body yearns.

Until a decision, from which I’m faced

To have the water but just a taste

And I’m left here burning, with the memory of those sweet few sips,

And I imagine pressing the glass to my scorching lips

And quenching my thirst which forever I’ve yearned,

As my lust is on fire, and raging it burns.

And here I lay, my breaths shaky and quick,

And of all the wants it makes me sick,

To see you there, and to yet deny,

As my thirst is stronger, and from thirst I die

"I lust for water, for I can no longer cry

A powerful poem. Strong statements made the poem a pleasure to read. A lot of hidden story in your words.

This is wonderful. I love how you describe very carefully what it feels like and it seems this is about a lost love right? Wonderful!
