Suspect.

Suspect.

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

The sad reality of most of us.

"

Guided hands envelop the strings of the heart,

Mirrored thoughts leave times behind us all,

Glaring eyes are softened with hopes carress,

Flutters stem the right for us to kiss not fall.

Piercing pains neither hurt nor scar within me,

Sliding feelings print minds away from hell,

Religious ceremony bound to smiles forever,

The seal for both are the dings of the bell.

Parents ripped apart by wanting lust,

Fear rising in single hearts slapped and shoved,

Catch another in heat and passion lay,

Once nerves and hands no longer loved.

Laying still in wooden boxes no better,

Finally of the same stature and respect,

Dead the only cleanser that never fails,

Each other mere people of tragic suspect.

Most people don't realize this, but I find great peace an beauty through the mysterious and unexplainable emotion of sadness. This poem is incredibly and irrevocably filled with the truth of people's lives that most of society attempts to cover up. In a nutshell, this poem is really beautiful!

this is wonderfully sad. by that i mean, it's a very sad poem, but there's this air of beauty about it. almost as if the writer behind these words is okay with the way things have played out in some regretted satisfaction. We all have to remember that our past is what made the person today, and today is what will make the person you will become in the future.

I admire the layered quality to your work :)
So much in life/society is never addressed..death may indeed be the only cleanser for hollowed out emotions and so much more..
Beautifully conveyed as always love xoxo

i can deliberately and honestly say that i love this! this is a departure from what i've seen in the past from you. it sings. it has heart and depth. in a word, this is my kind of verse! effortless beauty and strong, defined imagery. awesome!

I sense a refrain of infidelity in this verse. The sadness here is caused by it, that's just my view anyway. As always, brilliant work.
